VIRTUAL URGENT CARE
CVAM Virtual Urgent Care gives eligible existing patients access to a CVAM provider for cardiovascular concerns that need timely attention but are not medical emergencies, without requiring an in-office visit.
Virtual Urgent Care is available Monday to Thursday from 7 AM–1 PM. Please be aware that it is best to call earlier in the day as wait times may vary.
You may be treated in Virtual Urgent Care if your symptoms include:
- Palpitations
- Blood pressure concerns - blood pressure is higher or lower than normal
- Shortness of breath that is mild or gradually worsening (not new or sudden onset)
- Abnormal readings from a smart watch or home ECG (i.e. Kardia)
- Concern for medication side effects, if the medication was recently started by CVAM
- Concerns about recent testing results, when the testing is cardiovascular in nature and available for review in the patient's chart (when these concerns cannot wait until the scheduled follow-up visit).
- For patients with known heart failure, mild fluid retention symptoms that may require prompt medication adjustments. Symptoms may include weight gain >2lbs in 24hrs, increased SOB from baseline, decreased activity tolerance.
Symptoms not treated in Virtual Urgent Care include:
- Active chest pain
- Acute/new shortness of breath that has not previously been discussed in office
- Fainting or loss of consciousness
- Stoke-like symptoms - weakness on one side of the body, difficulty speaking, facial droop
- Very fast or very slow heart rate associated with symptoms of dizziness, lightheadedness, chest pain, or confusion.
