Meredith Bell, PA-C
Physician Assistant
During the next two years, Ms. Bell practiced as a Physician Assistant at a Scottsdale arrhythmia office until she ultimately joined our practice April 14, 2017.
Ms. Bell is NCCPA Board Certified as a Physician Assistant. Her additional certifications include Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
Ms. Bell is a Physician Assistant Adjunct Faculty member in Cardiology at A.T. Still University. She is also a member of the Heart Rhythm Society (a national Electrophysiology organization).
During her free time, Ms. Bell likes to run and exercise at the gym. Currently, she is training for her 4th half marathon. She also enjoys watching Denver Broncos football and Formula 1 racing in addition to spending time with her husband and two Siberian huskies.
Carolyn Chu-Setterstrom, PA-C
Physician Assistant
Carolyn Chu-Setterstrom, PA-C joined CardioVascular Associates of Mesa (CVAM) in 2007. She is a graduate of A.T. Still University, a division of the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine, in Mesa, Arizona. She received her masters in Physician Assistant studies after graduating from the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona with her Bachelor’s of Science in Special Education and Rehabilitation.
Carolyn specializes in cardiology, coordinating patient care between the medical clinic and hospital, as well as helping oversee our Anti-coagulation and Pacemaker Clinics. She has privileges at most East Valley hospitals.
Analyn Holman MSN, AGACNP-BC
Nurse Practitioner
Analyn Holman MSN, AGACNP-BC graduated in 2009 from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She received her Master of Science in Nursing, Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner degree from Grand Canyon University in 2016.
From 2013, until she joined our practice, Analyn was a Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit at Banner Baywood Medical Center where she provided direct care, evaluation, and management of critically ill medical and cardiology patients. From 2011 through 2014, Analyn worked as a Registered Nurse in the Telemetry Department at Mercy Gilbert Medical Center, providing attentive cardiac monitoring of pre and post-operative cardiac patients. From 2010 to 2011, Analyn also served as a Registered Nurse in Telemetry/Progressive Care at West Valley Hospital.
Analyn is Board Certified as an Adult-Geriatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with the American Nurses Credentialing Center as well as Board Certified as a Registered Nurse with the Arizona State Board of Nursing. She is certified, by the American Heart Association, in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Basic Life Support.
When relaxing, Analyn likes to enjoy the movies, travel and try new exotic restaurants to appease her palate. Her favorite cuisine is sushi and you will never see her skip out on a delicious dessert. She enjoys going to the gym and taking her Pomeranian Minnie out for walks at the park. She was originally born and raised in Orange County, California, but loves living out here in the desert. She especially enjoys working and spending time with her patients here at CVAM.
Seth Howard, MSN, FNP-C
Nurse Practitioner
Seth Howard graduated as a Registered Nurse with an Associate of Science Degree in Nursing in 2012, later completing his RN education with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Grand Canyon University in 2019. He later received a Master of Science Degree in Nursing with certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner, from the University of Phoenix in early 2022.
Prior to joining CVAM in 2022, Seth worked as an RN at Mayo Clinic Arizona in the cardiac intensive care unit (CVICU)/general medical ICU since 2014. He served as a team leader in this department and further demonstrated his devotion to cardiovascular patient care by participating on the ECMO and cardiac transport teams with Mayo Clinic. Seth enjoys working with people in solving health concerns for the betterment of their quality of life.
Seth is licensed by the State of Arizona as both a Registered Nurse and a Family Nurse Practitioner. He is Board Certified and maintains membership from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. He also holds both Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
In his personal time Seth enjoys camping with his wife and kids, mountain biking, and building furniture.
Christine Nikolic, MSN, ANP-BC, CHFN
Nurse Practitioner
Christine Nikolic MSN, ANP-BC graduated with honors, in 1995, with an Associate Degree in Applied Science in Nursing from Passaic County Community College in Patterson, New Jersey. In 1998, she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Ramapo College of New Jersey in Mahwah. Christine continued on to pursue her Masters of Science in Nursing, which she received in 2002 from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, School of Nursing in Newark.
During her academic tenure, Christine was a member of Sigma Theta Tau, an international honor society for nursing, as well as Phi Theta Kappa, a national honor society for two-year colleges. She was on the Dean’s List while at Passaic County Community College and Ramapo College of New Jersey.
Christine has been a licensed RN since 1995. She has been licensed in Arizona since 2003. Christine has been certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners as an Adult Nurse Practitioner since 2002. She has been certified by the Arizona State Board of Nursing as an Adult Nurse Practitioner since 2003. From 2002 to 2004, Christine was certified by the New Jersey Board of Nursing as an Advanced Practice Nurse. In addition to completing a Critical Care course, she is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Basic Life Support.
Christine has been published in Nursing Spectrum.
She has been working as a Nurse Practitioner in cardiology since 2004 managing patients with various cardiovascular diseases with a focus on heart failure and currently running the CHF clinic at CVAM in collaboration with the cardiologists in the practice.
Mary Jo Stucky-Heil MSN, ANP-C
Nurse Practitioner
Mary Jo Stucky-Heil MSN, ANP-C graduated with national honors in May 1983 from College of St. Catherine in St. Paul, Minnesota with a Bachelor of Arts in Nursing Degree and a minor in Fine Arts Technical Theater. She received a Master of Science Degree in Nursing, graduating with national honors from Arizona State University in May 2006. At this time, she also received a Nurse Practitioner Certification in Adult Primary Care with an emphasis in Critical Care, also with honors.
Prior to joining CVAM in 2011, Ms. Stucky-Heil worked in several hospital systems’ intensive care units and emergency departments, as well as cardiology practices, throughout Phoenix and the East Valley.
Ms. Stucky-Heil is a licensed Registered Nurse and Adult Nurse Practitioner in the State of Arizona. She has ANCC national certification in addition to being certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). She has also received training in trauma, critical care and intra-aortic balloon pumps.
She is a member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, Arizona Nurse’s Association, Preventative Cardiovascular Nurses Association and Arizona Nurse’s Association.
Ms. Stucky-Heil is actively involved in the community, serving on the Board of Directors of the East Valley Boys and Girls Club in Gilbert as well as the Board of Directors of the Gilbert Fine Arts Association.
April Timmerman, MSN, FNP-C
Nurse Practitioner
April Timmerman MSN, FNP-C graduated in May of 2011 from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Lincoln, Nebraska with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She later received a Master of Science Degree in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner, graduating from Grand Canyon University in October 2020.
Prior to joining CVAM in 2021, April worked at Banner Heart Hospital in the cardiovascular intensive care unit, and progressive care unit. She has additional experience with primary care offices, pediatrics, and cardiology practices throughout the valley.
April Timmerman is a licensed Registered Nurse and Adult Nurse Practitioner in Arizona. She is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Board and part of the Sigma Theta International Honor Society of Nursing. Additional certifications include Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS).
April Timmerman’s qualifications include many years of cardiovascular nurse experience and extensive cardiovascular disease knowledge. She is passionate about cardiovascular disease prevention and management for her patients.
Brandy Hayes MSN, AGACNP
Nurse Practitioner
Brandy Hayes MSN, AGACNP graduated from Macomb Community College in 1999 with an Associate Degree in the Science of Nursing(ADN/RN), and then graduated in 2011 from Chamberlain College with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). She received her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner degree from The University of South Alabama in 2015.
From 2016, until she joined our practice, Brandy was a Nurse Practitioner at a cardiology practice back in Oregon. While there she helped set-up and manage a chest pain clinic to better serve the cardiology needs of patients recently seen in the ER.
When relaxing, Brandy likes to explore and take photographs of nature with her husband. She also enjoys playing competitive video games with her husband and virtual reality boxing. She has a beautiful pug named Leia and is currently showing Leia how to swim as she adapts to her new home in Arizona.
