Salmon
Salmon is included on many healthy diet lists because of its powerful omega-3s. These healthy fats can lead to lower blood pressure and may even be linked to less inflammation in the body. Just remember to research your fish before you eat. Mercury is a rising concern in many fish, especially fish that eat other fish, and you don’t want to deal with mercury on top of heart concerns!
Tuna
Tuna also offers powerful omega-3s and may be an easier fish to add to your diet. Many of us have easy access to canned or packaged tuna, and even grew up eating tuna. Therefore, incorporating tuna into your diet may be easier, as you may have access to recipes you’re already familiar with. Tuna can also be added to salads for added flavor and protein, and there’s the classic tuna fish sandwich you can try as well.
Olive Oil
This oil is ancient and has a great reputation for good reason. Olive oil is rich in heart-healthy antioxidants which can protect your blood vessels. Who knew?! Plus, olive oil is a great snack (just pair with bread), and can be used as a salad dressing when combined with balsamic vinegar and a little salt and pepper.
