Nurse Practitioner

More than 20 years ago Laurie followed her calling and stepped into the career of nursing as a licensed practical nurse. She continued her nursing aspirations and started practicing as a registered nurse in 2007. In 2014 she completed her Bachelor of Science in nursing at Grand Canyon University. She continued her educational journey at Grand Canyon University and in 2020 graduated Summa Cum Laude with her Master of Science in nursing and obtained her certification as a family nurse practitioner.

Prior to practicing with CVAM Laurie spent her first two years as a nurse practitioner in a family practice clinic in Queen Creek providing care for both pediatric and adult patients. As a registered nurse Laurie spent 13 years caring for patients in the intensive care unit (ICU). She provided care to patients at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center and Mercy Gilbert Medical Center in the medical, surgical, neurological, cardiovascular, and trauma intensive care units with a focus on cardiothoracic surgery, lung, and kidney transplants.

Laurie is a licensed registered nurse and a family nurse practitioner in Arizona. She is a member of the Arizona Nurses Association, American Nurses Association. and Sigma Theta Tau International Society of Nursing. She carries certification in intensive care and basic and advanced cardiac life support.

Laurie is engaged in her community of Eastmark and the city of Mesa and is actively completing a 10-month “Eastmark Leadership” program. In her downtime enjoys photography, hiking, off-roading in her Jeep, and time with her fur babies.
